The Purpose Of This Program Is To:
• Aid business advisers, external consultants, or internal consultants to troubleshoot internal organizational problems
• Provide a list of the most common internal organizational problems
• Provide the order in which problems should be investigated
Program Contents:
You may have to do some organizational troubleshooting to determine the “real” problem so that you can design the best solution.
Usually the organization provides a list of symptoms along with a number of speculations and opinions.
Your job is to sort out the facts from opinion and determine the true cause or causes of the problem.
Troubleshooting an organizational system is not significantly different from troubleshooting a physical system. The most economical approach is to look first for the common problems that require fairly simple solutions.
Unless you have extensive experience in dealing with these types of investigations, we suggest you check out the possible causes in the order presented in this program. The possible causes are arranged in order from the most probable to the least probable.
Remember, there can be more than one root cause.
The objective is to identify the root cause and solve it as quickly and economically as possible.
Program Format:
This program is designed to increase the knowledge of people who have to do organizational troubleshooting and therefore the presentation can be read on a computer or it can be presented to a group. There is a written handout that covers the same basic information as contained in the PowerPoint presentation.
In most cases this is new information for the reader or participant. We are not aware of any other program that actually provides the order in which internal problems should be studied within an organization.
Since this is new information for most people there is a limited amount of participation and therefore the program is designed as a straight lecture presentation.
Program Components:
This program includes a PowerPoint presentation and presenter’s notes that can be used both to increase the knowledge of the program presenter and it can be used by a presenter to teach a group of people about troubleshooting internal organizational problems.
A written handout is provided that can be used as a comprehensive summary sheet after the presentation or as a reference for people who are interested in learning more about organizational troubleshooting.
The handout is in two electronic formats, one in Microsoft Word and another copy in PDF. The word copy is easy to change and can be modified to suit your needs.
The PowerPoint presentation has 38 slides and 38 pages of instructor scripts.
