Program Objectives, Contents and Components


The Purpose Of This Program Is To:

• Provide the organization leader with a comprehensive evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of the organization.

Over a period of 30 to 40 hours an in-depth, confidential, organization Needs Assessment is performed to identify an organization's strengths and weaknesses.

The Needs Assessment will touch every area of the organization. An in-depth analysis of over 250 areas covering all of the key functional and operational areas of the organization will be accomplished.

The Needs Assessment will establish how each organizational/functional area affects the organization's profits, cash flow and ability to grow.

The analysis identifies needs that require a response by organizational leaders.

The needs analysis results provide the basis for successful needs integration between organizational functions and with outside services.

A comprehensive Needs Assessment will improve People's attitudes, performance, productivity as well as to reduce costs.

Program Contents:

This program can be utilized by external consultants or by internal management to identify and respond to organizational needs.

The program contains a PowerPoint presentation that can be used as a sales presentation and as an introduction to the Needs Assessment process.

There are printable written handouts that explain the Needs Assessment process along with a suggested letter from senior management to organizational members.

There are separate Needs Assessment questionnaires for executive management/owner, managers, supervisors and associates.

Separate questionnaires by major organizational functions such as sales/marketing, production, accounting/finance and information technology are included.

Instructions covering the topic "Where do we go from here?" explains how to establish priorities to address the identified needs.

The process involves all members of the organization and this involvement leads to a feeling of being consulted and contributing to the organization's success.

The program does not require expensive computer programs, statistical analysis or spreadsheet skills.

Program Format:

This program starts with an introductory presentation on the objectives and process of conducting the Needs Assessment. The presentation is supported by PowerPoint slides and written handouts.

The analysis is done by small groups of individuals within the organization and is accomplished by discussing and completing the questionnaires.

All organization members are usually involved in suggesting improvements and setting priorities.

Senior management makes the final decisions as to priorities.

The Needs Assessment project requires about 40 hours of coordination by a manager or by an outside consultant. The project would generate approximately 40 billable hours for an outside consultant.
